Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
This policy covers Motmot Foundation Repair ("we," "us") and this website, motmotfoundationrepair.com. It's written the way we write everything: plainly. If anything here is unclear, call us and a person will explain it.
Information you give us
When you call, text, email, send a form on this site, or use the repair calculator's send-summary feature, we collect what you choose to share: your name, phone number, email address, property address, a description of your foundation concern, and any photos you send us. If we inspect or repair your foundation, we also create records about the property itself — elevation measurements, pier maps, inspection findings, proposals, and repair documentation.
Information collected automatically
Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type, and timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. Beyond that, the site only collects what you allow through the cookie choices described below.
Nearby content and local weather
To point you at content for your area — like your city's service-area page, or what today's storm means for your slab — our own server estimates which of our service areas your network address is closest to, using a city-level geolocation database that runs on our server. Your address is not sent to any third party for this; the weather lookup uses only the matched city's coordinates, never anything about you. The result lives in your browser only for the current visit (session storage, not a cookie) and we don't keep it. If you're outside Central Texas, this feature simply does nothing.
Cookies
The first time you visit, a banner asks which cookies you're OK with. Nothing optional runs until you say yes, and you can change your mind anytime — use the cookie preferences panel (also linked in the footer of every page as "Cookie Preferences"). Your choice is remembered for 180 days in a cookie called mm_consent.
The categories, plainly:
- Essential cookies — always on. They make the site work: remembering your cookie choice is itself one of them. They don't track you and they aren't shared with anyone.
- Analytics cookies — only with your OK. Tools like Google Analytics help us see which pages and guides homeowners actually find useful, in aggregate. We see page counts, not people.
- Marketing cookies — only with your OK. Tools like Google Ads or Meta let us measure whether our advertising works and show more relevant ads. Declining doesn't remove ads from the internet; it just means we don't measure or tailor them.
When you decline a category, we don't load those tools, we tell Google's consent system the answer is no, and we delete that category's cookies from your browser as best we can. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
If we add or change the tools behind these categories, we'll update this section — your saved choice still applies to the category, not the individual tool.
How we use your information
To schedule and perform inspections and repairs, prepare proposals, answer your questions, send the communications you asked for, and maintain records of work performed — which matters more than usual here, because our warranty runs for the life of the structure and your elevation history is the baseline for any future claim. If you text us or give us your number, we may text you back about your request; reply STOP at any time to opt out, or reply HELP for help. Full details are in our SMS Terms & Conditions. Emails from us include a way to unsubscribe.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with marketers. No exceptions.
When we share information
Only when the job requires it: with an independent engineer working on your project; with your bank or lender, at your request, if you're financing the repair; with service providers we use to operate (such as scheduling or messaging tools), who may use it only to provide that service; and when the law requires it. If the business were ever sold or merged, customer records would transfer with it under this same policy.
How long we keep it
Inspection and repair records are kept for the life of the warranty — which means the life of the structure — because they're what makes the warranty enforceable for you and any future owner. Other information is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we limit who can access your information to the people who need it to do the work.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep records tied to an active warranty or required by law). Contact us using the details below and we'll handle it directly.
Children
This site is for homeowners and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
