The calculator estimates the one thing that drives most of a foundation repair bill: how many piers your house needs. It takes your footprint, marks the walls showing symptoms, places piers at the industry-standard 6-foot spacing along the affected runs, adds corner logic, and multiplies by Central Texas per-pier price ranges for the common methods — concrete with rebar, hybrid, and steel piers.

What moves the real number away from the estimate: your specific soil and its depth to stable strata, access (a narrow fenced side yard digs slower than an open lawn), whether an under-slab plumbing leak is part of the story, and interior piers, which need tunneling or floor access. None of that is visible from a sketch — which is exactly why the output is a range, not a quote.

Access and interior piers deserve their own sentence, because they surprise people on quotes. A pier is priced as a unit, but the digging around it is labor: a hole in an open lawn goes fast, while the same hole between a house and a privacy fence gets dug entirely by hand, and one under a deck or a pool skirt means demolition and restoration before the pier crew starts. Interior piers push this further.
